Rectangular, the lid and sides engraved with dragons on a hammered ground within chamfered or plain borders, a plain oval reserve to the lid, cedar lined, no maker's marks seen, retains old retailer's labels.

NOTES
From what I can see this looks to be from the 1930s rather than a later piece from Hong Kong. It is a shame that there are no maker's marks to confirm a more exact date or place of origin. The dragons are nicely detailed and this is always a popular motif with collectors. The weight will be deceptive as the cedar lining gives strength and body to the box meaning that the sheet silver covering it can be relatively thin. A nice looking piece all the same.
