An early 20th century Iranian (Persian) unmarked silver covered twin handled sugar bowl, Shiraz circa 1930
Pahlavi dynasty, of oval form upon a spreading circular foot, the hinged domed surmounted by a compressed knop finial. The body with chased mombatt kuri decoration of figures within a vignette, one side with a seated King Darius before gift bearing emissaries, the obverse with the winged symbol of Ahura Mazda (Ormuzd) supreme god of the Zoroastrian from the Royal Audience Hall of Darius I at Persepolis. The upper section with a border of chased foliage against a textured ground.
