A copper/bronze model of a scorpion
A Japanese style articulated copper or bronze miniature model of a scorpion, cast in sections with a flexible tail (although it is unclear whether or not the legs, claws and body segments also articulate), apparently unmarked.

It is understandable that there is a presumption here of this item being a Japanese Jizai Okimono but the type of alloy employed and the type of the manufacture do not support this assumption. It is much more likely to have originated in Indonesia or Malaysia. although several other South-East Asian countries are known to produce such tourist trinkets.
