Unusual Jade Carving of Coiled Chilong Dragons, China, 19th Century.
Unusual Carved translucent pale celadon jade. The stone exhibits grey hue with russet grain and specks. The coiled Chilong dragons depicted here are connected to each other, forming a sophisticated structure by a nice openwork of jade. The dragons' skin is nicely ribbed, but plain underside, showing an inconsistent style and craftsmanships.
Nicely patinated surface. Minor carving flaws.
